Steve Horvath is a founder of the Epigenetic Clock Development Foundation, a non-profit organization. He receives no compensation for this role.

Epigenetic clock patents arising from his University of California work are owned by the Regents of the University of California and licensed by the University, which names him as an inventor.

He was a Principal Investigator at Altos Labs from 2022 until March 2026, and retains equity from that employment. He holds no current position with the company.

All research described on this site is carried out at UCLA and is subject to the University’s conflict-of-interest review and management policies. Financial interests are disclosed annually to UCLA and to funding agencies as required.
